Blackboard provides you with many powerful tools. You can embed audio and videos to content areas in a course site. We have recently found that embedded audio auto-plays as soon as the content area where the audio resides in is accessed on Google Chrome.
Note: This issue is not affecting videos embedded from Youtube. It is only affecting .mp3 files that are uploaded to Blackboard.
Chrome used to use a plugin (software)to handle MP3 files in Blackboard. That plug-in is no longer supported in Google Chrome versions 42 and up. Newer versions of the browser simply Auto-play .mp3 files.
1) Use another browser such as Mozilla Firefox.
Please contact the Blackboard Help Desk if you are experiencing this issue, we will be more than happy to be of service.
