Kaltura Media Screen Recording – Chrome & Microsoft Edge Issue

Kaltura Media is an add-on to the Blackboard Learning Management System that allows easy creation and/or integration of videos into a Blackboard course site. Videos can be uploaded from a web cam, or screen captured. The screen recording feature of Kaltura requires Java to function properly. Since Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge do not support Java accessing the Screen Recording feature of Kaltura with either of those two browsers will result in an error message stating that the applet has failed to start.

Workaround

1) In order to use the screen recording feature of Kaltura you will need to use another browser, specifically, Mozilla Firefox(Windows or Mac), Internet Explorer 11(Windows) or Safari(Mac).

Note: Be sure that you have the latest version of java installed in your computer.
