Using Groups

Blackboard Groups allow students to collaborate with other members of the group. Once you are a member of one or more Groups, group areas are available usually in the course menu, or an instructor may also include a link to the group tool inside the course's content areas (i.e. Learning Modules, Content Folders, etc.).

Considerations

  • The Group Homepage is specifically tailored for each group. Students can access their group's tools and assignments
  • You don't have to create a group folder for members to collaborate with one another, but it may be more helpful to establish a specific folder for sharing a collection of files among the group.
  • After you're enrolled in a group, only your instructor can remove you from a group, including self-enroll and student-created groups.
